ROHAPECT® MC, the next generation classical pectinase enzyme for berries and other fruits from AB Enzymes

26/05/2020

We are pleased to announce the launch of ROHAPECT® MC, the latest addition to our ROHAPECT® fruit processing enzymes portfolio.

ROHAPECT® MC is particularly suitable for berry processing and it is universally suitable for the mash and juice treatment of various fruits.

Blackcurrants, cranberries, bilberries, blackberries and other berry varieties have recently been recognised as “Superfruits”- a new term, which describes nutrient-rich fruits. They are a good source of vitamins and polyphenols like anthocyanins. These antioxidants are considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being, however, industrial processing of berry fruits to produce high-quality juices and juice concentrates is often challenging.

Andrzej Dadas, Key Account Manager (EMEA)

Berry processing can be quite special. There are so many different berry types with very special compositions and the season is short. Challenges are often seen in de-juicing as well as filtration- and clarification operations

ROHAPECT® MC contains the optimal composition of carefully selected pectolytic enzyme activities. This ensures quick and reliable pectin degradation leading to fast viscosity reduction and high juice and anthocyanin (colour) extraction as well as fast clarification and excellent juice ultrafiltration. The result is a smooth process which yields juices and juice concentrates of the highest nutritional value.

Klaudija Milos, Business Director Food

The Application Development Team of AB Enzymes has taken up this challenge and developed ROHAPECT® MC, our new pectolytic enzyme preparation specially designed to tackle the problems with berry processing.

With over 85 years of pectinase experience and our deep conviction to provide the right enzyme for challenging processing applications, we were poised to apply our expertise in this field.
