Roal acquires ISO 45001:2018 certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

24/01/2019

We are very pleased to announce that on January 24, 2019, our manufacturing partner Roal in Rajamäki Finland successfully passed the ISO 45001:2018 audit, acquiring certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. ISO 45001:2018 is the latest international health and safety standard, established in 2018 to replace OHSAS 18001. It provides a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks, and create better, safer working conditions.

The new standard also broadly addresses the needs and expectations of various stakeholders, and guides companies in getting their employees to participate extensively in health and safety. ISO 45001:2018 builds on the management system standard structure to allow easy integration with existing standards at Roal such as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

We already have a strong culture of ensuring safe working environments for all our employees, contractors, visitors, and other stakeholders. For example, last year, we extended our safety function to our regional offices too, and every site has trained safety coordinators who perform regular risk assessments and ensure that we all participate in preventing incidents. With ISO 45001:2018 certification, we have made this an even stronger and guaranteed capability.

As a full member of the Association of Manufacturers and Formulators of Enzyme Products (AMFEP), AB Enzymes also actively participates in industry-wide efforts related to enzyme safety.
